President – Hagen Wallach

Role of President:
  • Supervise club activities and oversee committee projects
  • Chair committee meetings
  • Set long-term and short-term goals for the club
  • Direct the club to ensure that members’ educational and leadership goals are met

Role of VP Education:
  • Stand in for President when President not available
  • Track each member’s education needs and progress through assignments at meetings
  • Schedule roles and speakers at meetings
  • Arrange speech contests
  • Monitor each members progress through Pathways and approve completion of levels
  • Manage Base Camp Manager

VP Membership – Jeremy Ellis

Role of VP Membership:
  • Manage membership
  • Look after guests at meetings and provide info pack to join
  • Assign buddy or mentor to new members
  • Check current members to make sure they are happy

VP Public Relations – Glen Pearce

Role of VP Public Relations:
  • Promote club and its activities to potential members outside the club, and to existing members within club
  • Manage club social media, e.g. Facebook page and club website
  • Advertise club and meetings
  • Put up signage at each club meeting directing interested guests where to go

Secretary – Rosalind Ellis

Role of Secretary:
  • Minute club committee meetings
  • Keep and manage club documentation including constitution and club success plan.
  • Manage Base Camp Manager (along with VP Education)
  • Keep a record of meeting attendance and member achievements
  • Update club officer lists held on Toastmasters International

Treasurer – Nimeshka Silva

Role of Treasurer:
  • Maintain club finances and bank account
  • Prepare financial reports for club committee meetings
  • Prepare a club budget for coming year
  • Present all accounts for payment and get approval of club
  • Collect members dues and pay memberships at Toastmasters International
  • Manage bank signatories

Sergeant At Arms – Coralie Hare

Role of Sergeant At Arms:
  • Keep track of club’s physical property and prepare room for meetings. Note at Ohariu this responsibility is shared with other club members such as Joanne Gordon, Sean Vekula and Glen Pearce who are often the first to arrive before a meeting.
  • Organise name tags for new members.
  • During contests, escort contestants on and off stage and prevent interruptions.
  • Social events at Ohariu are generally organised by club members.
